Is Plone still a serious knowledge- and communication process-management solution for professional enterprise applications? Since 2006 the author is using the system to collect, manage and archive enterprise related informations both for his own customer related business sectors and offering consulting for customer applications as well. The talk will point out for decisionmakers why the Plone system architecture is: Good for the user and integrator – Good for the organisation – Good for the developer.

Automated migration of complex Typo3 or Drupal systems to Plone 4 is no fantasy but already real. During the German Plone Konferenz 2012 in Munich this application for the Transmogrifier migration framework and Plone was subject of a featured talk. The approach is not intended for a small webseite around the corner of the block. But when the current old CMS or ECM becomes a tight corset and or lacks security features, Plone is first choice with its safe and scaling architecture. No one will regret the change from PHP to Python – Promised!

The difference between an Intranet silo and a social connected platform is having the tools on top to point each other at the valueful spots. The Plone Intranet Suite is intended to do exactly that – Having a locally hosted secure Intranet and Extranet and the tools to get things done by exchanging valueful hints and have productive discussions to "take things further".

Managing the life of digital assets has evident importance for every company today. You can bury your data very easy with cheap storage. Easy storing should save time because only a minor percentage of the stored data needs retrieval later. The challenge is that nobody can apply the filter in advance. Storing in advance is obviously only one part of the solution. To avoid storing twice or more often is one amongst others. If it comes to quality knowledge management is more important than data warehousing, because knowledge is the essence of information. Finally wisdom is choosing the right one(s) from the available answers.

We are proud to support this great event for German speaking developers and IT stakeholders. After having great Plone tracks at the annual DZUG conferences since 2004 and the regional World Plone Days, this is the first Plone exclusive conference for German speaking people. After the International conference in San Francisco last year it is a brilliant opportunity for one of the biggest parts of the worldwide Plone community to meet up in their home area.

In 2015 one of our long term customers - The german "Green Dot" - relaunched its logo and appearance to a new fresh incarnation of one of the first and most driving international recycling brands. The "Green Dot" has changed the face of professional recycling for over 20 years in Germany and then all over the world. Instead of just updating the logo on the existing roadshow equipment, acsr idustrialdesign worked close with the public relation department to boost the impact and add experience using the latest Oculus Rift and VR technology.

In 1989 a group of software architects around Karl J. Lieberherr and Ian Holland were looking for a tool to simplify the implementation of Zeus, a hardware description language. While looking for a tool name related to Zeus, they choosed a sister of Zeus: Demeter. Later the idea of Demeter-style software development was promoted for structure-shy programming. The goal is coupling modules in object oriented development as loose as possible by making them only talk to themselves or the closest neighbours and not crossing over module hierarchies whenever possible. The manifest was casted into the "Law of Demeter", short: LoD and targets lowering dependencies and increase maintainability of software.
